Universally hailed as reigning King of the Blues, the legendary B.B. King is, without a doubt, the most important electric guitarist of the last half century. With one of the world’s most identifiable guitar styles, he has defined the blues for a worldwide audience.

Additional Information:

2120 South Michigan Avenue will open for B.B. King. This 5-piece blues band lead by Concord Native, Charlie Sawyer, blends stratocaster electric guitar and amplified harmonica with an on the money rhythm section.

Join us before the show at Concord’s new hotspot, the Spotlight Café in The Governor’s Hall for a performance by Brooks Young Band at 6 p.m. The spotlight café will feature fresh and exciting work and offer a cash bar and imaginative menu items.

B.B. King's precise and complex voice-like string bends and his left-hand vibrato have influenced thousands of players, from Eric Clapton to George Harrison. Today, a contemporary blues guitar solo without a couple of King-inspired bent notes is practically unheard of. Since his four-star breakthrough in 1949, King and Lucille, his beloved guitar, have released over 50 albums. This 13-time Grammy winner’s hits include "Payin’ the Cost to be the Boss," "The Thrill Is Gone" and "Why I Sing The Blues." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1984, and received NARAS’ Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 1987.

Premier seating is reserved for Capitol Center members. To learn more about all the great benefits of CCA membership, click here.
