The Kimball House

Adjacent to The Chubb Theatre is the faithfully maintained Kimball House, a stately 19th-century Victorian mansion that is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors marvel at the hand-carved woodwork, marble fireplaces and Tiffany windows and mirrors. This historic resource has been protected with assistance from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program.

The house serves as administrative office space for the Capitol Center for the Arts, and has played host to intimate dinner parties, weddings, business retreats, meetings and presentations.

Several splendid meeting spaces in The Kimball House are available for public use. The main floor includes a formal dining room, hallway, sitting room and mahogany porch – an elegant setting for up to 75 people. For a small fee, larger gatherings can extend into the stately main-floor library, which features a double-sided marble fireplace. The third-floor board room sits up to 40 people and is a perfect space for business retreats, planning meetings and presentations.

Base Rental Cost

Please note that the rental costs listed below are base rental costs only. Extra charges will be incurred for table setup and breakdown, linen, A/V equipment, dance floor, etc.

(for use of Library, please add $150 to rental rate)

Commercial Renters: $400 per 9 hour shift (includes 2 hours setup/2 hours removal)
Non-profit Renters: $350 per 9 hour shift (includes 2 hours setup/2 hours removal)
Private Social Events: $800 per 9 hour shift (includes use 2 hours setup/2 hours removal)

In addition to the elegant Kimball House, the Capitol Center offers the 1,300-seat Chubb Theatre, and the Governor's Hall for meetings and receptions with up to 422 guests.
