Usher Signup
Please note that you must complete the Volunteer Registration Form before signing up to usher. If you sign up to usher without registering as a volunteer, your signup will not be valid.
ATTENDANCE POLICIES AND INCENTIVES: There is no minimum number of usher assignments required per term (except that all ushers must work at two Dance Competitions per year.) In an effort to encourage attendance and accountability, we have developed an incentive program called Superstars. Superstars get to sign up for two shows at the semi-annual usher signup meeting before any other ushers.
SUPERSTAR REQUIREMENTS: Sign up for the designated number of shows. This year, it is six shows September through December 2007 to qualify for the January 2008 signup meeting; and 12 shows (including two dance competitions) between January and August to qualify for the September 2008 signup meeting.
Be on time and have 100% attendance to the shows for which you have registered. For Example: If you sign up for more than the required number and cancel one, even though you have done the required number of shows, you no longer have 100% attendance and DO NOT qualify as a Superstar.
USHER CANCELLATION: In order to get “credit” for a show that you cancelled, you must contact John Caruso at least 48 hours prior to the show. A cancellation can be “made up” by finding a substitute or ushering an Emergency Show.
USHER ATTIRE: All ushers are required to wear a white collared shirt (preferably a white tuxedo shirt), black bow tie, black socks, black shoes and black pants or skirt. All ushers should bring a flashlight. Flashlights can be purchased at the Capitol Center for $3.00.
