Box Office Assistant Manager

The Capitol Center for the Arts is currently accepting resumes for the position of Box Office Assistant Manager.

Position Summary: The Box Office Assistant Manager shares responsibility for the efficient functioning of the Capitol Center for the Arts Box Office.  In coordination with the Director of Ticketing Services, this position manages and supervises part-time Box Office staff and ensures excellent customer service standards are met.  The Box Office Assistant Manager reports to the Director of Ticketing Services.

This part-time position shall be responsible for managing the daily activities of the box office including but not limited to:

  • Oversee personnel selling tickets, schedule hours, and ensure box office coverage on a daily and weekly basis, including weekends and evenings.
  • Work with CCA programming department, touring companies, and promoters to make sure the needs of individual performances are met including scheduling presales & on-sales, creating accurate pricing layouts, discounts, VIP events etc.
  • Work with representatives of Patronmanger to deal with support issues and explore ways for the CCA to use the system as efficiently as possible.
  • Monitor website and on-line ticket sites to ensure information is accurate and working.
  • Monitor advancements in ticketing technology and methodology.
  • Work with schools to organize Education Series ticket sales.

 Qualifications: The ideal candidate would have experience:

  • Managing support staff.
  • Working in a non-profit Performing Arts Center presenting theatre.
  • Reconciling large volumes of cash and credit card transactions.
  • Using computerized ticket systems and Microsoft Office software.

This part-time position requires excellent customer service skills, problem solving, teamwork, flexible hours, and the ability to use computers systems effectively.

Prior experience in customer service desired but not necessary.
