How many kids get to live out their fantasy and become a “Harry Potter”, be seen on TV on in over 130 countries, and have the title of the world’s “youngest” professional Illusionist? Well, that’s what happened to 12 year old Kadan Bart Rockett and his 10 year old sister Brooklyn, when they were finalists on last season’s America’s Got Talent. They left Simon Cowell “speechless” when they performed major illusions that you’d expect to see from David Copperfield or Penn & Teller. To quote Cowell, “ Kadan is a real life Harry Potter! He’s fantastic and creepy and I have no idea what just happened?”
As young as these kids are, they’re no strangers to show biz, having already appeared in 16 national TV commercials. Also, Kadan had roles in six movies and recently co-starred with Keri Russell in the suspense thriller “Dark Skies.” (He is the youngest child star in Hollywood to do his own stunts, hanging from a 25 story building during a kidnapping scene). When their dad, Bart Rocket hosted CBS’s Kids World and the syndicated “The Bart Rockett Show”, they were frequent guests. (BTW: Dad is not only a master illusionist, but an exceptional ventriloquist who studied with the best, Jeff Dunham.)
This 90-minute show is perfect for the entire family. (Watch carefully: One of the illusions will include special guest performers from Concord Dance Academy!)
Opening for Kadan and Brooklyn is Mr. Aaron. With great grooves and an uptempo folk-pop sound, “All My Friends Are Giants” tells stories — of a tea party for giants, of Ali Baba, who won’t listen to his poor camel, of a duck who likes to think–and features some outlandish instruments, like the bass clarinet, the cajon, and more. Kids and grown-ups alike dance and laugh along. With years of experience performing and teaching, Mr. Aaron brings unparalleled energy, enthusiasm and creativity to his concerts, albums, and videos. After nearly 10 years as a professional musician in New York City, Jones and his family moved to Concord, NH, to have a baby and open a recording studio (Rattlebox Studio). A longtime member of kindie band Karen K and the Jitterbugs, Mr. Aaron has delighted and inspired kids and families all along the east coast. When he’s not performing for kids, he tours with 90’s alt-rockers Luscious Jackson, and has been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, and VH1.
