|Our volunteers are often the first faces our patrons see when they arrive. For that reason, it is important to have a helpful and friendly attitude. Volunteers not only support the shows that are favorites to see but are a key part of every event. Your support when called upon is essential to the sustainability of the Capitol Center for the Arts and most appreciated!|
In an effort to encourage attendance and accountability, we have developed an incentive program. Those who achieve the following goals and requirements are allowed to sign up first for two shows at the semi-annual usher dinner.
Goals & Requirements
• Designated number of shows- 12 shows from mid-August through mid-January to qualify for the January signup meeting; and 12 shows (including two dance competitions) from mid-January to mid-August to qualify for the September signup meeting.
To cancel a shift
• Cancellations should be done on-line, if possible. You may also contact the Front of House manager Cheryl Lampron at 225-1111 ext 115 or by email at email@example.com if it is before the day of the event.
Usher Training / Emergency Evacuation Training
• All Volunteer Ushers attend one training session at least once every two years.
While the most important thing our ushers wear is a friendly smile, volunteers are asked to dress as follows so that you will be easily recognizable as a CCA usher in the event that any of our patrons need assistance. Ushers always wear black slacks or skirt, black shoes and black socks or tights
Shows or events will be designated on your sign up as:
Tuxedo shirts, bow ties and CCA Polo shirts can be purchased at the Capitol Center for the Arts Box Office during business hours or one hour prior to a show.
All ushers need to have a small flashlight at every show.
To Say “Thank You!”
• The CCA holds 2 Volunteer Appreciation Catered Dinners each year to show our appreciation of your dedication to us and to provide an opportunity to sign-up in person for the upcoming season. We also celebrate you during Volunteer Month (April) with a breakfast catered by our production staff.
